Workshop 1 : Introduction to the OceanGliders Github repository – S. Thomsen
Github is becoming a central piece of the OceanGliders data management strategy. This is both a forum where the issues are discussed collectively and a controler version tool to manage collective projects, like documents and software. In this workshop, you will be introduced to the basic use of Github in the context of OceanGliders community repository.

Workshop 2 : Metadata management and controlled vocabularies
The objective of this workshop is to introduce the glider operators, principal investigators and data managers to the importance of harmonized metadata and the concept of controlled vocabularies. The existing resources to handle this critical topic will be presented and training will be organized during the workshop.

The objective of this workshop is to introduce the audience to the current situation in Europe and beyond regarding Real Time QC and open discussion about the benefits of harmonizing RTQC in Europe and how to progress toward this goal.

- Discussion about harmonizing RTQC at the European level following the OG requirements – 40 min
